Are you doing home learner workshops?  No

I am currently working for the Surrey School District and am no longer available to teach home learners. I enjoyed working with a number of families, but I will be focusing on teaching and other projects. I may be willing to tutor individuals or small groups of students depending on the timing.

BIOLOGY
Animal Habitats  - Learn about various animals habitats and how these can be impacted  by human activity.
Classification  - Learn how to classify animals into various groups and we won't focus only on mammals. Play classification games.
Animal Adaptations*  - How have animals adapted to their environments and to other animals? How have humans adapted? Learn to adapt to new conditions in a game. (*Note: Creationists may want to give this one a miss.)
Human Body - Body systems can include digestive, circulatory, respiratory, muscular, skeletal, immune and nervous systems.
GROSSOLOGY ! - The study of gross things about the human body. Why do we make snot? Why is poop brown? What is a fart? What happens to our food? Make blood and snot in this bizarre, but fun workshop.
Nutrition - Play nutrition bingo, learn to analyze ingredients and find out what food does for your body. Make and eat some tasty food.

CHEMISTRY
The Science of Bubbles - Learn about the science of bubbles, go inside bubbles and do some unbelievable bubble art. 
Kitchen Chemistry - Lots of hands-on, safe chemistry experiments to try.
States of Matter  - Make different non-newtonian substances, experiment with dry ice and try the plasma ball.

PHYSICS
Electricity - Make electric circuits with Snapz kits, make electromagnets, have your hair stand on end with the van de graaf generator and experiment with 640 LED lights. Try various other electronic devices and become the electrons in a gigantic electric circuit.

GEOLOGY
Air, Water and Soil - What is air? What happens to our water? Why is soil important? 
Earth's Composition - Make model Earths complete with layers, do experiments to see how erosion happens, find out where clay come from and much more.

ROBOTICS/COMPUTER CODING  (primary, intermediate and middle school)
Computer Coding with Scratch -  Would your children like to learn to write computer code?  The basics of coding are taught by using MIT's application designed for children - Scratch. Children learn to create animations, drawing programs,  games, present information or research and  more. 
LEGO Robotics - This is an introduction to  programming with LEGO Mindstorms or  LEGO WeDo. The LEGO Mindstorms EV3  kit will be used in conjunction with tablets.  All equipment needed is provided.
